Fuji FinePix S3 Pro Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Sharpening techniques??
I have been using a bit of edge sharpening lately in combination with smaller & smaller amounts of overall USM. I know Thom Hogan's CD for the S2 had his version as a PS Action and there are others that do the same around. I eventually made my own custom action for it. Can be used most effectively to sharpen an image while leaving noisy areas alone.

What did you do or what changes did you make to your computer since all operated fine? Bad things just do not happen - you must have done something that is now responsible for the issue. Can you repair your Vista installation - your OS may be at issue. If you have other computer with Vista try installing there to see if it works. Maybe something is now wrong with the camera - it happens.
Cant run software on mac os 10.8
Software to do what? If you want to download pictures from the camera to your computer, then you don't need any software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

I sent my Fuji S3
Digital cameras are famously demanding on batteries, and the early Fuji ones were notorious. You must use good alkaline batteries or better, a set of high capacity NiMH rechargeables. Zinc or "long life" batteries just aren't up to the task, and they can leak and cause corrosion.
NiMH batteries with a capacity of 2700mAH are available, and these will last longer, per charge, than name brand alkalines, as well as being rechargeable. You can buy these with a charger fairly cheaply now (though they obviously cost more than disposables). You will probably want two sets, one to be on charge while you use the other.
Error message on camera

How can I find Firmware updates fore Fuji FinePix
Here is the link I used when I had my S3 Pro.
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/s/finepix_s3pro/fupd.html
I didn't do it as outlined because I didn't have the optional AC power adapter and at first didn't know how long it would take for this process. using the camera as an external drive.
What I did was format a card in the camera place it in my media card reader and downloaded the update to the card. Placed the card in the camera and followed the instructions shown in the link to upload the information to the camera. After I was finished I re-formatted the card again and every thing was fine.
I will add though make sure that both files sizes are the same meaning if they say the files are 378mg make sure the files after loading to the card are 378mg. This method worked for me.
Camera not reading CF card
try using the card in some other camera or connect it to a computer, if it works then u'll have to take the camera to a service station to get it working again. If it doesn't work then try using a different card in your camera
