Hi, we have a Philips
If you have the owner's guide at home, shoot me the model number from the set itself; it should be shown on the guide.
If I can determine the nature of the 'receiver box,' perhaps I can suggest a work-around.
I have a feeling that is a converter of some kind and it may be of a type not brand dependent; i.e., replaceable with another brand.
I'd really like to help you and gain some insight into this problem too.
I can't see my tv
You likely need to select channel three or four on the TV itself if you have any kind of box between you and the signal source (cable, antenna, satellite).
Magnavox is a name owned previously by Philips and now by Funai.
They may not have all the info from Magnavox and Philips but you could check their website to see if they have the instruction manual for download.

The no signal message is there because the screen is waiting for a signal from the receiver, it then switches into protection mode (flashing red). The usual cause is a blown protection fuse inside the receiver.
TV SET ON STAND BY?
This is to do with the capacitors inside the TV numbers 2662, 2663 and 2664 - If you unscrew the back panel of the tv you will see the capacitors towards the top of the tv, from memory around the middle.
Replace the capacitors (make sure you get the polarity the right way round) and you should find all is ok.
