I want to expand my memory, so I went to Fry's with my computer model number and bought a 1Gig memory card, brought it home and the pin configuration doesn't match. The one I bought has two rows of pi

Go to http:\\www.pby.com and look at the memory configurator. You will be asked about your system (make and model). They will then advise you of the specific part number for your memory. Keep in mind, you should never expand upon existing memory. It is always better to replace the memory completely so you don't have to deal with any manufacturing conflicts. Take your new found part number and plug it in at amazon.com

To replace 1 GB of memory completely should cost about $45.00 USD.

Problem with lisenting audio on my laptop

Hi there,

The connections in your speakers are waring, this is due to opening and closing the laptop as the wires go through the screen.

You can take it to a repair shop and they will repair it, or just vist the compaq website and try updating the sound drivers.

hope this helps

No sound audio driver installed anymore?

If you can't find the audio for that board, purchase an inexpensive sound card (used-$5) and it is easier than pulling your hair out.
If you provide more information on the particular board # and nomenclature it may be possible to find the exact drivers you require. Like I said, found an old sound blaster...
Hope this does the trick for you, good luck,
please leave a rating, thank you kindly

Emachine 180 (bought 2004)

I have this type of computer (just sitting around , not for my main computer) and I had a smilar problem. I took it to a guy I know (who owns a computer repiar shop) an he said the motherboards on this model go haywire about four years after initial power-up. On mine, it caused the power supply to blow-up (literally) and blew out most components. (Floppy drive, Sound card, USB ports, Keyboar/mouse plugs)

I really don't know if What he said is true, but I replaced the power supply, and now it works fine.

Need wiring diagram for eMachine 20030812 motherboard!!!

You should be able to see the words/letters that go with the jumpers on the motherboard itself. look around the jumper settings area for power, pwr etc. and match them up with your jumpers which should have what the go to on them.

Need Sound driver

you can get the drivers here: http://www.nodevice.com/driver/815EP_Pro/get38348.html , they come in the motherboard packaged drivers, you may be able to install them individually or you may have to install the package.

scroll to the bottom of the page , put in the "letters" they are asking for . Download the driver to your desktop so you can find it. exit the browser and dbl click on the download on your desktop to start the install.

if you insist using it, you can try to updae the bios or reset the bios or unplug all usb devices and pci cards and try to see what cause the error.

Can't find drivers for my gateway ML3108b coprocessor

The coprocessor is part of the chipset package (part of the CPU)...the chipset you have is an Nvidia chipset, and I am guessing from the specs on your notebook that you are using Vista 32-bit...If all of this is correct, then you can download the chipset driver package from gateway at this link...

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=22285&dscr=NVIDIA%20Motherboard%20Driver%20Package

Please don't rate this solution until we have finished the problem solving, as sometimes getting the right solution is a process...Thanks!

Dead motherboard on emachines t2984

I hope that you took it back to them.
Have them check the power supply, too. Besides, a bad power switch and connections that would be the only thing that would be keep it from starting.
