will not recognize store bought disc or any disc that it has played before. It is about 5 yrs old but not used a lot. will play CD's and has good sound I have heard that this is a sign of laser going bad. what would that cost to replace?

My Sanyo DRW-500 DVD recorder is about 3 years old. I have been getting disc error messages when trying to record on a new disc. Sometimes if i mess with the door a little on the front, then i can get it to work. this issue is becoming more frequent....

I have a Samsung DVD-V1000 DVD/VCR combo. It says that it plays CD-rs, however, when I try to play a CD-R, it says "No Disc". Other CDs work fine, and the CD-Rs work fine on other CD players. I know that they are burnt in MP3 format.
