you need to use red blue and green component cable to connect this to a hi definition player. hdmi to analogue is not possible without expensive circuitry as well i know you can buy hdmi to phono leads but they will not work for this kind of application. what outputs does the blue ray player have?

At the rear of the tv there may be two controls on the right hand side marked "screen" and "focus".If the set is newer, you will have to remove the cover and look to your right. You will see a dark object with a black or red wire coming out of it's top. That is your flyback transformer. On this you will find these two controls.Adjust your focus with the one so marked.Be careful to only adjust this control while you watch your picture clear.PROMPLY put the cover back.

Hello

An outdoor antenna is more better than indoor antenna. If we fix an indoor antenna, especially in rooms in a flat type structure buildings, due to its iron network structure reinforced inside its concrete will oppose a considerable obstruction to tv signals to get through. Moreover, if any paerson walk through these telescopic type antenna, picure will get shiver of it will be distrurbed.

So buy an outdoor antenna, and hoist it at suitable place, where there are no obstructions comes between the signal path of the transmitter and the antenna. Get an antenna, whcich has as many as cross elemets, if it is a yagi type. As number of elements increses, the sensitivity and seletivity of the antenna will also increase, resulting in good and detailed picture clarity. OK

Most places listed "1 tuner" in specs. Was finally able to find a site where it listed the type of tuner which confirmed that it was not HD compatible. That was all I needed. Sorry I troubled you with this, I shouldn't even have been on your site with this Q. Thanks for responding. Potter1

Good day. It would have been a different scenario if the problem is your tube. The one that your having is a mere problem with the loose contacts in your units circuitry. Also, the terminals of your deflection yoke must be reoldered..

The "cricket" sound you heard can mean any number of things:

1. A component in the power supply that sets the frequency failed, causing a high frequency (hence over-voltage) in the SMPS, which then also failed. The initial failure may have occurred in a small high-voltage capacitor in the power supply (around 160V or so rated)

2. A failed horizontal drive or vertical stage, which drew so much current that the switching semiconductor in the SMPS failed.

Note that such failures often occur like dominoes (one, then two, then three, and so on). Sometimes the fuse itself will not even blow out. The best thing to do is to first remove the line-output transistor and then replace the switching semiconductor(s), nearby zeners, capacitors, and fuse if blown. Then turn the unit on and check for about 105V on the collector terminal of the line transistor. If that's fine then turn unit off, replace the line transistor.

Of course the above procedure is only a guide; the precise steps taken will depend on your exact make and model. Also, if the above sounds mind boggling then rather take it down to your nearest repair shop. Good luck.
