Alarm sounding on 2004 Volvo S60 D5 for no apparent reason.

Temporarily, you can go to the fuse box inside your car [open the driver's door and the panel is on the end of the dash, which is hidden when the door is closed.] And pull the last fuse, #38, for the siren.

The owner's manual states that pulling the fuse, or if it's damaged/burnt/blown, that the alarm will sound. That's not true. BTW, I learned of all this from three different Volvo forums/user groups, tonight. My '03 S60 started having a near constant running of the alarm. [It's usual 25 second run, a very short pause, and then it'd go again.]

Pulling the fuse disables the siren, but the rest of the alarm still works as usual. Blinking lights, and if it has it, an ignition kill. You can verify buy closing all doors, but keeping the drivers window down. Then arm the alarm. Wait 30 seconds. Manually pull up on the door lock pin. Then open the door. The amber lights should start flashing. And your dash will have a message that the alarm was triggered, and to check the vehicle.

The problem and it's permanent solution: the batteries in the siren module go bad after some time, and if they leak their electrolyte fluid, that'll corrode the circuit board and/or quite commonly, it turns out, corrode one of the two +/- wires connecting the battery to the circuit board. Thus, messing up the alarms sense of reality, and triggering the alarm at random times/intervals.

Need to get a replacement siren module [can't get circuit board separately, apparently.] and either have fun trying to replace it yourself [dealing with rivets] or have the dealership do it. They'll say you need to do a software reset, but you just need to arm/disarm the system three times to reset it. [according to the forum posts I've read.]

Good luck!

2004 s 80 volvo no start immobilizer message on

There is a relatively common fault of the antenna in the receiver (around the key hole on the steering column) going bad. Basically, it doesn't detect your key properly and then it refuses to start. You could tap or bang around a bit around the column to see if you can limp it along, but replacement is the most likely course of action. Check the link I attached, it's not that expensive. You might want to make sure that's the problem (call FCP) before you buy the part though, to be safe. Volvo Ignition Immobilizer Antenna Genuine Volvo 8621509

Coolant over flows

Replace the radiator cap with the proper pound pressure cap. If still does this, could be a bad water pump or collapsed lower radiator hose.

I have a 2002 S60

You may have something as simple as a glovebox lamp or trunklamp that is staying on when the lid is closed.Easy to check those before you start getting too deep. The reason I suggest these two is that I worked for Volvo as a tech and found this situation after ripping my hair out for hours, more than once. You might also just have a battery that has done it's service and now wants to retire. If you have power seats take a quick under the front seats from the rear and check for a possible soda can or other form of debris that may have squeezed a wiring harness. Lastly an alternator regulator which is intergral with the alternator can cause a draw if it goes faulty. Disconnect the tickler harness(pull off connector) from the alternator and see if you've still got a draw. I'll be following your results, I'm intrigued by your situation. Good luck my friend, Dana

2001 Cadillac Deville Northstar Engine thermostat location

4.6 Northstar V8. It is located on the rear of engine (driver side) in front. It is in the the water pump housing cover. Remove air box and intake tube and bottom radiator hose. 2 bolts(believe 10mm) on thermostat housing. These systems are a little finicky about air pockets....so fill slowly and let run at idle until operating temp and let cool and check level.....fill as needed and repeat if needed.

Peugeot expert central locking not working

A faulty central locking system might be due to several reasons, such as a blown fuse, faulty solenoid, or electrical wiring issues. Also, it's good to remember the fault might not be with the central car locking system but the key fob instead; over time, fobs require battery changes.
