DVD door won't open

It's likely the drive belt that controls the sledge the disc goes on has perished or fallen off. It should just need replacing.

Have a samsung DVD-V1000 VCR/DVD

Always frustrating when a videotape gets stuck in a failing/failed VCR deck. Since all decks use a loading motor and gear system, it would be a simple matter of gaining access to the terminal pins of the loading motor (assuming you can see these from the top of the deck) and applying 9V DC voltage to 'unwind' the loading mechanism - you may get a little bit of tape outside of the cassette, but at least it's ejected. If the DVD deck works as you say, you may be able to continue using this for a while.

If the loading assembly is toward the underside of the main deck, you may need to remove the entire VCR mechanism - then you can apply the 9V to the motor to unwind the gear (it is easier to apply a low voltage to the deck rather than use physical force to unwind gears - as you may damage them) - while leaving the DVD deck in the unit untouched. There should be 2 separate mechanisms in this combo - 1 being for DVD the other being for VCR - as long as you are careful when removing the VCR deck, you should have no problem retrieving your tape (with maybe a little creasing but otherwise undamaged) from it. Be careful when removing the top cover and front panel assembly; you don't want anything broken.

Since VCRs are becoming obsolete these days, it is hardly worth getting this one repaired by any service centre (unless you want to pay a fortune, which is usually more than the retail price of a new combo unit). It's up to you.

NOTE: you cannot operate this unit with the VCR deck disconnected from the motherboard (you will get an annoying error display with the VCR removed). Once you have successfully removed your tape from it, reconnect the VCR mechanism to the board - but do not use it - just use the DVD part if that is still OK. Refit the covers, plug machine into power. Done!

You need a lot of patience to undertake the abovementioned action. Fingers crossed.

Hello!!! My name is Becki Barned, with DISH Network customer service!! I hope this has already been resolved for you, but if not, here are some simple troubleshooting steps. I enclosed a link for cabling, from our website. The issue here could be caused by a cable ending up in the wrong spot accidentally. Also, I would try to unplug the receiver from the power source for about 10 seconds. And also make sure that your tv is on the correct channel. Tv1- channel 3 or 4, and sometimes an input such as video 1 or 2. Tv2- channel 60 or 73. If this has not been resolved, and you are still having problems, please email me at [email protected].

DVD player will not open..is there an override

Hi no im afraid their isnt if it was a pc or laptop then their is a little hole you can poke a pin in just below the drive but they never fitted them on dvd players.

the problem you are having is due to the plastic runners inside the player wearing down and this causes them to stick, now the only way you can get it open is to get a knife or strong flat bladed screwdriver and then when you press the open button get it in one of the sides and pry it open once its open you should find it may keep working for a month or so but eventually you will have the same problem.

now as for getting it repaired the problem with this is that the parts and labour would cost more than its worth so the chance of anyone fixing it for you is slim, its best if you pry it open it may be hard to do but it will come open and you might find you will have no more problems with it, some people never have another problem and it may work for as long as you need it to but most the time it will only last a month or two before it gets stuck again.

let me know if you need further assistance ok.

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Need Comcast Remote Code for Samsung DVD-V1000

I just programmed my comcast remote for my Samsung v1000, My comcast remote is very similar to the 3-in-1, but has a few more buttons on it (on the Comcast site, my remote looks like the DVR 3 remote, but I don't have a DVR). The code I used was 21044.

By using this code, the play/stop/rewind/ff buttons all work. I didn't test the record button. The Info button worked as "Display" and Exit button to work as Audio Source (HiFi/Mono). However, the Volume and Channel controls did not work.

I hope this helps.
