This motherboard has the integrated Intel GMA 950 GPU.
This graphics processor is very weak, it uses system memory instead of the normal separate graphics memory, and it uses the system CPU for graphics functions that are normally done by the Graphics Processing Unit chip.
This means that if the CPU has to do other tasks, the Video will suffer.
If there is a lack of free RAM, the video will not function because paging to the hard disk (Virtual Memory) is way too slow.
The first thing to check is CPU usage, and free RAM under normal conditions before you try HD video.
Are there enough free resources ?

Micro Star International motherboards are identified by a number printed on the motherboard in the format two letters
and a four digit number. XXXX
This is usually printed under the video card slot, or between the PCI slots.
So you are looking for MS XXXX.
From the MS XXXX , you can go to Ebay to get more information.
There is usually someone else selling the same board, since there was such a mass production of most MSI models.

Hit the F8 key during the bootup and if menu pops up select "last known good bootup" and hit enter - see what happens.

Or use the recovery disks that came with your unit or that you were supposed to make. If no disks you may be able to purchase from MSI. Otherwise you will have to do a clean install of the OS from regular install disks.

So, start out with plugging your keyboard in. Where do you have it plugged? It may be "USB 2.0", and if you have it plugged into a "USB 3.0" socket, it may not work. Try a different socket.

Try a different computer, perhaps the keyboard is bad.

Try a different keyboard, too.

It might be overheating. When your PC shuts downs and it's hot to the touch in some areas you might want to try this: I would buy a bottle of compressed air and I would clean/blow out the fans and exhaust port/s.

MSI is not very good on their older cards.
The default Microsoft drivers in Win7 and Win8 are the first place to go if the MSI website does not have the driver for an MSI card.
Look for the driver using Google, not MSI.

OS upgrades are cheap, the only problem with Win8.1 is that you have to use the 32 bit version on many older PCs.
