You need to replace the HDD. It is very simple. Then format it in SP Mode. Reboot. Ready to use.

The machine will automatically reset the maintenance message when the fuser is replaced.
There is a looped wire on the fusing unit connector containing a thermo fuse (a thin wire that quicly melts, and then short the cirquit).

If you don't want to replace the fuser yet, you can probably set the machine to meter charge, SP mode 5930, and then reset the maintenance counter with SP mode 7804.

You can of course take out the fuser, and replace it with a dirt cheap thermo fuse bought from Ebay. Then set the fuser back into the printer, and it will clear the maintenance message automatically.

Either way should work fine, at least it used to do that on the previous model - and it is almost identical.

try saving document to desktop then print it. Sometimes there is info in pdf you don't see. I have had customers that have this type problem and after they save it prints just fine.

Hi, my experience with this machine is that the gear that drives the black pcu breaks or cracks. Usually caused by the pcu being too hard to turn. I always turn the developer gear in the pcu before installing it just to loosen the toner.
