Hello
There is no software disc for this unit, panasonic only has manuals, usb cable and replacement components for this unit.
To connect it to a pc, plug it to the usb port on a computer, PC should appear and flash on the screen. wait unti stops flashing.
Device will appear in my computer or computer as a removeable storage device, you can copy recordings from it to the computer. That is the only function it has.

The response rate on FixYa FREE questions is usually over 80%, but sometimes questions go un-answered when:
1. the question is unclear, incomplete, or poorly worded...
2. the question is mis-categorized - so the correct experts aren't viewing it...

The downloaded manual does not
there are a couple ways to do this.
One is to use windows media player 11, It should have a sync tab. You can hook up device to usb, then use sync tab. You must have the drivers downloaded on your pc for pc to recongize the recorder.
You can also go to start menu, (after turned on , then connected to usb) then go to "my computer" You should see your device folder there. You can drag files from this folder and drop them into any folder you wish to transfer them too.

I have an mp3 recorder from panasonic, rr-us570, I
Under Linux it showed up as a disk with one partition
and a VFAT filesystem, though I had to mount it manually. No problem copying or playing files.
Under XP it didn't appear as a disk. It did come with a CD but I left that at home.
Normally, you just find the device under "my computer", explore the filesystem on it until you get the right one, then drag it into your mail client.
