I mostly use my dvd player to watch movies, but I do own or watch VHS tapes from time to time. I own two old VCR's, both with one rca jack for audio and one for video. I have high quality rca cables. The signal fades out and I get a blue screen. Then the picture comes back. I am only getting about 50% viewing. I have tried using Channel 3, Channel 4 and line out.

Problems started a few months ago. Top of picture had about 5 thick lines, which would disappear after about 30-45 minutes. Eventually, picture became blurry, with lines, and eventually the TV would not power up. Also, DVD function stopped working and wouldn't eject disc. Question, should I repair? Or invest money in a newer, HD plasma?
