First, I am assuming you are referring to the model UX-P100?? You can easily download the manual by using the following link:

Once there, you will notice that it doesn't list your model. Simply look through the scroll menu at the bottom and it will give one that says "Model Not Listed" Select that and a blank space will appear for you to put in your model. Make sure and put it in like this "UX-P100" Select what type of manual "User Manual"

And it will appear. Download the Manual which is in .pdf and you will find the place for setting phone numbers.

If you don't already have an PDF reader you can get a free one by going to www.adobe.com and downloading their Adobe Acrobat Reader™.

The only thing i can think of is that the thermal head is faulty!My advise would be to buy a new laser fax as this will be cheaper than replacing a thermal head!!

Open up the document feeder and clean the scanner glass

Buy the film set and simply follow the installation instructions on the box. If you put it opposite, there will be no prints...

You have a bad THERMAL HEAD, not worth fixing.

Check your phone line by plugging a spare hanset into the wall socket (Incoming line) and listening for a dial tone on this. No dial tone - faulty line connection.
Also check you have plugged in to the correct socket on the back of your fax.

Page 14 and 15 tells us how to feed the printing paper in.

pages 33 34 and 35 discusses how to feed the papers which needs to faxed .

The course of the problem could well be when you pulled the paper the wrong way out ot clear the jam. Open the machine and have a close look at the unerside of the flap. There should be a micro switch, which could well be desloged.

Two simple Solutions to the annoying COM.E-2 error problem on a Sharp FAX machine:

Get rid of your DIGITAL FAX line and go back to an old ANALOG phone line.

OR

Buy yourself a Canon, Rico, or Brother FAX machine.

(SHARP doesn't even have a list of their own error codes: Just like the place Dilbert works at, in the comic strip.)

The line shouldn't be any trouble for local faxing.

You may be able to. The unit may error out and not function, waiting for the new supplies. It may also continue to allow to fax out. I would say try it and see. 
There is nothing in sending that would require local supplies aside from confirmation and error pages.

Most likely has a problem with the fax PCB board inside it. Its not worth repair.
