Hello there, We bought our Hitachi hd tv less than 2 years ago . Last night whilst watching the tv, the picture suddenly went blurred, almost like 3d with the red, blue and green not lined up in the images on screen, the screen then went very dark, you can still see the images but behind a very dark blue screen and the images are still red, blue and green merged images. It is totally unwatchable now :( What do you think this could be and is it fixable? The model is a Hitachi L32HO1UA HD TV . I would be grateful for any help or suggestions. Kind regards ellie

My Hitachi dinosaur television picture goes off and on for no reason. It goes to a complete black screen and then comes back on. It does this periodically. Do you have any ideas? Is this major? Should we just buy a new one. We love this one the picture is beautiful.. We thought it was our satellite system until we hooked up another television to the system.. So now we know it is our television. Oh, and the television shows it is on when the picture disappears. Their is no sound either..just a black screen. No error messages or anything like that. At times it does it when a commercial comes on, then comes back on after the commercial is over.

intermittent sound loss on both internal and external channels. The sound works for a while and then just cuts out. Sometimes it comes back when changing between sources; sometimes it does not return until the TV is shut down for an hour or so. Sound usually comes on when TV is first turned on - but not every time. The time before it disappears is random, but it always occurs eventually.

i have a hitachi dlp television model/serial 61swx10b The sound has slowly began to come and go at random, and at this point will not come back on at all. I only have a dvd player hooked up right now (no cable yet just moved into house) so cannot tell if it is dvd player, however, used to work just fine. only thing i have tried is switching audio inputs (with no luck) and also the sound from my dvd player works fine on my older tube television. If the speakers are blown out (if that is the problem), will a surround sound restore sound. Some insight would be fantastic, Thank you

It's a 42" Hitachi Plasma using an AVC 75 receiver manufactured in 05. When cool, the picture is perfect. After about 90 minutes or so the unit heats up enough to start changing / flashing colors (red tint, green tint, Blue tint, B&W. This continues for about 30 minutes and then numbers appear, over the picture, that go from the top to the bottom on the left side of the screen. It almost looks like a count down timer. It'll also start changing the picture display (zoom in) narrow screen, completely black, etc. I pulled apart the TV and cleaned all the boards (it was pretty nasty), checked for cracked solder joints, obvious diode or capacitor failure, and everything looked great. If I isolate the receiver unit, and put a fan on it, it runs perfectly for 12+ hours. Once it gets going nuts on me, I can turn on a fan and it'll take about 30 minutes to get it cooled down enough for a normal picture. After getting it all dusted out (the internal fan was pretty nasty but working), the performance got better but still has issues. Everything inside it is pretty clean now, no obvious component failures, heat syncs seem to be intact, fan is working, and when cool, it works great. Any ideas?
