The unit has a parallel port interface and is supported under Windows 95/98/Me, Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP . The drivers are available here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/office/laser_facsimile/laser_class_2050_2050p_2060_2060p/laser_class_2060p?selectedName=Specifications#DriversAndSoftware . For the supported OS versions, download the drivers and then run the exe. If it extracts drivers, note the folder in which they are stored. Then launch the Add a Printer Wizard (Printers and Faxes in XP IIRC). If your computer doesn't have a parallel port, parallel to USB adapters do exist.
Neither Vista or Win7 Compatibility Center have the unit listed. The XP driver may work in Vista 32-bit with the compatibility mode on. For Win7 or Vista 64-bit, I'd suggest a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer with an older Windows OS. For the most setups, you'll need a licensed version of the Windows OS. (Virtual computer software include: Parallels, VMWare and Virtual PC.)
With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft for free, then install them in order. The printer will install normally into the XP virtual computer. However, files from the main computer will need to go onto optical media or an external drive in order to share them with the virtual computer for printing.
I hope this helps.
