These models of projectors form Epson have a standby which the projector enters when it no longer senses video input. The fans will continue to run because they are cooling down the lamp which remains hot for a few minutes after it turns off.

If this does not fix your problem, then the problem could lie with the projector itself. The projector fans may not be properly cooling the lamp, in which case the projector will turn off the lamp to ensure the projector is not damaged. To fix this, you could check if the fan outlets on the projector have become clogged with dust. If they have, definitely clean them out with compressed air.

what are the lights on the control panel when you turn it on? it should only be a green solid light. bulb icon flashes chances are you need to replace the bulb, keep us posted.

If issue still present upon doing those steps you may need to call epson tech. support at 562-276-1300 so that they can verify whether your projector is under warranty or not and give some great option regarding your projector.
