Does the power adapter get warm or is it cold? If it is cold after several hours of being plugged in, the adapter has failed. If the transformer blocks are warming, the wires between the adapter block and the base or the connectors are bad. You can try to get a replacement.

For the KX-TGC420E, the base AC power transformer is part PNLV226E0X; the AC adapter for the handset chargers use part PNLC1074ZB. However, I can't find either of these online.

I found the manual from Panasonic suppport: http://www.panasonic.eu/downloads/en_GB/popup.html . You do need accept the Panasonic terms of use to download the PDF.

I hope this helps.

Hi,
If it's that delicate, but you still want to keep it, you could try changing-out the mains fuse in the unit for a really, really low amps one.
You might be getting a power-surge as the power goes off, or as it comes back on. A very low fuse, might blow on the surge, which will leave you needing to replace the fuse, but not the capacitors.?
Best of luck.

Just reboot it. If that doesn't work, do a System Restore.

There are probably too many routers on the same channel in your area; very common problem. Too many routers on the same channel in close proximity causes interference and will cause wireless devices to intermittently disconnect from the wifi. To figure out if you have this problem, download wifi analyzer from the app store. Run it and you will see how many router signals are in your area and how many router signals are on the same channel. Xfinity uses channels 1, 6, and 11 for the 2.4ghz and these hotspots are everywhere! To fix this, log into your router and pick a channel that no one is using. I always set mine to channel 8 or 3.

Try this:

Start the computer. As soon as the "Starting Windows" screen comes up (not the Panasonic/Intel screen), hold down the Power Button to shut off the computer. This might force the computer to go in to Windows recovery mode when you restart. Now, turn on the computer, and it should go to a "Windows Diagnostics and Recovery" page. Choose Diagnose the Problem or whatever it says, follow the instructions.

If you do a new, clean install of XP in 2018, one would be missing hundreds of updates from Microsoft that would be very hard if not impossible to get. Some of those updates might apply to software that you want to use in conjunction with Windows XP. And if it is an older PC, you might not be able to find driver support for the particular make/model, and XP might not have the drivers you need. How many times have you heard someone say, "I just reinstalled XP, but now I am missing drivers?"

This could be your trouble, because even if your XP updated all the way up to April 2014, you could still be missing Panasonic updates provided by Panasonic/Microsoft through Windows Update, and many other Microsoft/Windows updates.

Since Microsoft has not supported XP since April 2014, I would recommend not using it anymore in 2018.

Good luck.
