Dishwasher will not start
Several things to try if you are mechanically minded. First I would pull the panel and see if you have current by testing the wires up with a meter. If you have power, at any point, look for a fuse or relay and test them. If none found, and no current found, pull the dishwasher out. Hopefully you have a 60" water line and enough drain hose that you don't have to disconnect them under the sink. Find the power line and check for voltage and the connections at the wall. I've seen bad connections a lot of times. If you do have power and good connections.let us know
No lights on Touch Pad
Sounds similar to a problem I had with mine. It just appeared to be dead even though the fuse panel wasn't tripped. The top of the dishwasher door has a little hole where with a contact inside of it and when the door is closed, it makes contact with the control panel. I blew into this little hole and like magic the machine worked. I had to try it several times and sometimes I need to use a small paint brush to clean the contact in this hole. I don't know if it's crumbs from the counter or what, but I was so relieved that I didn't call a repairman.
Good luck and let us know if this was a fix.
How do I repair the spring that holds dishwasher door?
The door spring can be seen on the side of the frame just below the bottom of the door. If the spring has just popped off you can put it back easily when the door is open. If the spring has become weak, you can get a new one from an appliance parts store or online.
My dishwasher will not fill
Earl,
If you have had any work done under the sink, double check and make sure the water to your dishwasher was turned back on. Assuming that the water is on, your other choices are that you have a bad water valve, which you can check if you have access to a multimeter. Set your meter to voltage, unplug the wires harness going to your water valve and if you have a knob to set your program, slowly turn that knob to where you would start the cycle and see if you get voltage when you put the probes into the wire harness. If you have voltage then the valve is bad and needs to be replaced. if you have no voltage then you may have a bad timer or control board. If you do not have a knob to set the program but push buttons instead, you basically would do the same thing to start the cycle to get those same results. Hoe this helps!
Water backs up from the drain in my dishwasher and smells.
what is the problem?
Two things can cause this problem:
1. The check valve in your dishwasher may be defective, allowing water and food debris to seep (or run) back into your dishwasher.
2. Your drain hose may not be "mounted up" the way it should be. Look under your sink. Look at how your drain hose is connected to your garbage disposal. If the hose runs down to the floor of your cabinet and into your dishwasher, that is wrong. Instead, it should be mounted up so that water from the sink and garbage disposal would have to flow up first to get into the dishwasher. If you do this, then even if you have a bad check-valve in the dishwasher, it will prevent the problem (or greatly reduce the problem) of dirty water flowing back into your dishwasher.
