To better assist me in solving your problem , please attach , as a comment , the make and model of this dvd player.

Does the unit have power available?
(Blinking light of it is a PC DVD player when starting your computer)
(Display is showing anything on a home entertainment system)

If this is a computer drive , follow these steps if you feel comfortable doing so. Disconnect your computer from its power supply before doing so. Do not perform these steps if the unit is under warranty.

1. Remove you drive by opening your case and removing the four screws supporting it.
2. Open the case by removing the four or six screws on the bottom of the unit and gently pull back the sheet metal case away from the case side.

Now you should see something like this




Now remove your CD and reassemble the drive and it should work correctly assuming that the only problem was a "cd-jam"

If the unit is a home entertainment system , do the following steps :

1. Remove all power from the unit and unscrew the sheetmetal casing. The player will look like this inside.
2. Remove the two/four screws holding the cd on the top of the reader assembly. See image

Remove the cd/dvd causing the jam and re-assemble the player and it should work fine.

There are other reasons why this unit will not open , but this is the most likely reason behind simply being blown.

I used a GE Universal remote. The package has number 24921 and the instruction manual says it's a RM24912. Anyway, this model will control pretty much all aspects of this tv combo assuming we are talking about the KLH KDT133UY tv/dvd.

What you need to do is program the tv button on the remote to code 0029 which is a KONKA code. The real maker of KLH electronics. Then set the dvd/vcr button to code 0905. Now in order to access the tv menu, press the tv button then press the shift button which is the setup button. Then press the INFO button for menu. SHIFT, MENU, OK, and EXIT are printed with a black backgroung on the remote. Hince you need to press shift.

Hi, you must check the user guide to find fuse rating or check the blowed fuse for current rating, for a DVD/Bluray player it could be about 2A /120V AC..

I do not own a blue ray player but my son has a PS3. The thick cable is most likely HDMI and it should work without the red/white sound cable...try unplugging them so the auto detect feature if available and activated is not trying to compete by finding 2 sources. If that works great! If not, you can get a yellow RCA for the video and just use those as a source - again, don't use the HDMI cable and try it. If you don't have a yellow RCA, I've used another red or white for video testing to see if I can get a video feed. Most newer red/white cable will pass a video signal just fine and are only color coded for ease of hookup.
