Visioneer OneTouch 9220 USB Color Scanner Questions & Answers
The OneTouch buttons don't work
Try cleaning the fiber optic strip and the mirror-like thing above it on the carriage. It is a pain to get at but might help.

Unlock when the scanner is unlocked
I had that problem. Based on some info about the Lexmark X85 printer, I began looking for the fiber optic strip. It lies at the bottom and stretches about halfway. It's about two inches wide and hard to see because it is virtually part of the case. I cleaned it several times. Getting the case off was a pain. That didn't quite work but then, just about the time I had given up, I took the scanner off my recycle pile and gave it one more shot. This time, I cleaned the fiber optic strip and then took the carriage apart and found the glass mirror-like thing that glides along the strip. Cleaning that did the trick. It is working again.

Scanner says it is lock, but it isn't
I had the same problem. The scanner car is stuck on the travel rail. Disconnect the scanner and remove the top. Turn over and remove 4 screws holding top to bopttom body. Turn right side up and push in very hard on the lower riight side of body to release snap in holding top to bottom. There are four snaps, one at each corner of scanner. Do the two rear snaps next. Then the left front should slip off. Unfold top toward front so as not to pull butoon wires out of track in bottom body. Clean 1/4" rail at rear of scanner and apply small amount of vaseline. Move car by turning gears at left rear to get to all of the rail. Reassemble. Happy scanning.

Wont scan
The image car is stuck on the travel rail. Remove lid, power and connection to computer. Turn scanner over and remove 4 screws holding body together. Turn right side up and push in on lower right front of body to relase keeper clip from top. There are 4 keepers at each corner of body. After getting right front loose, do right rear and then left rear. Left front is last [should slip off]. Unfold top toward front so as to not loosen button wires. Clean steel 1/4" round rail near rear of scanner and move scanner car by turning gears at left rear of scanner. Apply small amount of vaseline to rail. You can try to operate before reassembling but be carefull. Reassemble. And away you go. Happy scanning.

Vista functionality/drivers
Sorry, there are NO Visioneer drivers available for your scanner. Unfortunately, that model was one too soon for them to develop the drivers since it's been discontinued a while back.
However, within Vista Support, there are ways to install the scanner and while you may lose some functionality, you should be able to scan, at the very least, pictures -- IF Vista has 'generic' Visioneer-type drivers within it database. (Meaning, when you plugged it in to the computer and turned it on, did it find the scanner, but not the EXACT model? If it found A scanner, I'd let it install those drivers to see if you can get it to scan, etc. through the Photo Gallery, etc.)
IF you're successful with Vista recognizing the scanner, you would go through Vista's Window's Photo Gallery and/or Window's Fax and Scan -- as well as downloading 3rd party OCR software (like AbbyReader) and/or TWAIN drivers that are compatible (another whole level of "technical"!)
If none of the above works you may want to replace the scanner with one that's supported.
Good Luck!

Hi,
the problem could be the cabling between the scanner and the Computer itself.
Other than that the lamp is possibly faulty or on the way out.
try uninstalling and re-installing the scanner.
Also check that the AC adaptor is,nt overheating, unplug for an hour and then retry setting it up.

Visioneer RoadWarrior 4D- Calibraton Sheet, Copper Paper. I need to buy one or two of this
I cannot provide specific recommendations for where to purchase items. However, you may be able to find a calibration sheet for the Visioneer RoadWarrior 4D scanner online or through a retailer that specializes in office equipment or computer accessories. You may also want to try contacting Visioneer directly to inquire about purchasing a calibration sheet for your scanner.
Keep in mind that you may need to provide the model number and serial number of your scanner when making a request for a calibration sheet, so it may be helpful to have this information available. It is also a good idea to confirm that the calibration sheet you are purchasing is specifically designed for the Visioneer RoadWarrior 4D scanner and is made of copper paper, as this may affect its compatibility and performance.
