Hi, you will need to install the driver for your display before you can increase your resolution. Try this link for your drivers:

Anything MORE than ONE beep indicates that the motherboard has detected a problem:
* bad RAM
* RAM not correctly "seated" in its socket
* one of the fans powered by the motherboard (CPU, case) is not spinning, or is not spinning fast-enough
* bad video-card

EXACTLY what sequence of "sounds/beeps" you do hear?

The audio driver is a Realtek HD Audio and the lan driver should be a Realtek driver also - they can both be downloaded from links on this page.

Post your results here, especially if that link doesn't fix your problem.

I'm thinking you need a new CMOS battery.
The battery number should be a 2032. It's on your motherboard and is a little smaller than a US quarter

Hi there.
If you get a bios/post screen the the system is recognizing the memory, take the system memory out and clean the contacts and the slots with a dry, clean paintbrush. Re-seat the memory and re-start the machine, if it still loops you may have to clear the cmos, look at the motherboard near the battery for a plastic jumper like this >>cb272d4.jpg move to the other position and hit the on/off button (nothing will happen) then put it back in its original position and power the machine up, this should work and you will have to set the date and time again.
If you can't find a jumper take the motherboard battery out for an hour making sure you pull the power cord from the back first.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Well that makes 2 of us sparky, I never heard of that either nor do I know what skpe is. Lets just put this error code aside for now. Right click on My Computer & slide down to properties. Click on the Hardware tab than open Device Manager. Scroll down to Sound, video & game controller. Click the + sign. Do you see a yellow ! point at any device there? Now open control panel and open Sound & Audio device. Click the Audio tab. Is Realtek AC97 Audio listed there? Than click Voice tab, the same should be listed there. If Realtec AC97 was not listed reinstall your audio drivers. Click the link below & download from ECS. In referance to the mouse. If you installed new mouse drivers when you connected that new mouse, uninstall that software.

I did not find any referance to code 1 through microsoft or at ECS. Please post back so I can make some sense of this.
Good luck sparky!
please vote...

If it is quite old it may not have an AGP slot in that case you will need to buy a PCI card for it.
