Do a factory reset to this set, and check. Refer its user manual for fore details. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If they're just basic speakers from a stereo system, then you can't connect them directly. The TV doesn't have the sockets nor the power to drive them. You need an amplifier. For stereo PC speakers, if the TV has a headphone jack socket then you can use that. If it doesn't have that socket, then you'll need to use the TV's optical connection on the back of the TV with an optical to analogue converter box. Amazon does the Cable Mountain box for under 10 quid. This will convert the light signal in to an electrical stereo signal that the PC speakers will understand. One issue going for PC speakers is that they rarely come with remote control. The volume can't be controlled via the TV's optical out. So you'll have to get up and change volume from the speaker's control instead.
