Here is the link to the user manual for your player if you need it; http://www.clarion.com/gb/en/MungoBlobs/483/874/DXZ838RMP-EU.pdf Page 38 of the manual (page 42 of the pdf file) describes the error codes error 6 states "a disk is loaded upside down inside the cd deck and doesnt play properly" Suggested solution is to try the disc the other way up, if this doesn't help then there is most likely a problem with the lens - possibly cured by cleaning, please ask again if you want to try this yourself and we can talk you through it Hope this helps :)

Hi.

Not all in-car stereo are compatible with computer recorded CD.

Try setting Roxio to "Close Disk" and "Close Session" or "Disk at Once" (try all) while recording the CD on PC.

If that does not work, then the stereo is not compatible with recorded CDs.

Regards.

a common issue for this car,and usually an easy fix.usually its a result from carbon buildup on the tip of the idle adj. screw.in a simple explanation the pgmfi system is set to measure the amount of air flow passed the conned shape port of the throttle body, with carbon build up it gets false readings and is constantly trying to search for the correct adj. The reapair is to remove the screw clean the carbon off the screw tip and also inside the port where it is removed from with pressurized carb cleaner or brake cleaner bought at any auto parts store. The screw sits in upper portion of throttle body assy.,just above where air intake hose from air filter attaches. Its a large flat head screw, inset about an 1/8 of an inch.from the factory it comes with a protective film over so to make removale easier spray carb cleaner over screw and scrap away thin layer of protective coating. Then firmly unscrew idle screw all the way out, once removed you 'll notice the black sooty buildup on the end of screw.clean well with carb clean until all deposits are gone. Then spray carb clean into port of throttle body(where screw goes)wait about 30 sec or so spray again into port. re insert screw and screw in till it completely seats, then back out 1 1/2 turns.start car and hold at higher rpm to blow out deposits loosened in throttle body(30 sec or so)then let idle.surging should have gone away at this point. good luck!

Here is the link to the user manual for your player if you need it;
http://www.clarion.com/gb/en/MungoBlobs/...
Page 38 of the manual (page 42 of the pdf file) describes the error codes
error 6 states "a disk is loaded upside down inside the cd deck and doesnt play properly"
Suggested solution is to try the disc the other way up, if this doesn't help then there is most likely a problem with the lens - possibly cured by cleaning, please ask again if you want to try this yourself and we can talk you through it

pls - check also that the cds you where trying to play were of the correct type, and burned in the correct format, also that the settings are correct for the type you are using - page 21 (25 pdf)

Next thing to try is cleaning the lens - use a cotton bud which you have dipped in alcohol - rubbing alcohol is ok - but let the cotton bud dry mostly before going at the lens.
Figure out how to get to the lens and very gently wipe it with the cotton bud.
Remember the lens is not that scratch resistant, and it is quite finely positioned, so wipe, dont scrub.
If that doesnt help, then check that there is adequate voltage to the unit - it may have enough to appear to function but not to initiate the laser - bad ground cable would be the first suspect.
If no luck with that, then i think the set needs to be serviced properly - sorry
if you need help finding a service centre let me know with your general area
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
