My camera turns on when the shutter is opened. No image appears through the viewer. All normal information appears on the viewer (ex. picture number, Auto, picture size). I can retrieve and view all pictures previously taken, but I cannot take new pictures. I have recharged the battery 3 times. Is it possible that the battery is not taking a complete charge? What else may be wrong and what is my next step?

I bought a Konica Minolta Dimage X60 two years ago. It
worked fine until a few weeks ago when I found that pictures I took were fuzzy
and out of focus. I searched the internet and found that low battery voltage, insufficient
light or improper focusing procedures could be the cause. However, even after I
tried newly charged batteries, taking pictures in bright sunlight and made sure
I used the proper focus procedure (LCD monitor focus signal is white, and the
focus frame turns red) the problem remained. One thing I did find, however, is
that if I take a picture within two feet or so of the subject the picture is
sharp. I like the camera a lot. It fits conveniently in my shirt pocket and has
worked well for me. I hate to shell out more bucks for a new camera and I
suspect if I take it into a camera shop it will cost more than I paid for it.
Is there something I can tweak to improve the situation or do I have to bite
the bullet and toss it? Thanks for your input.
These are some of the problems I have encountered over the years. It mainly relates to Fuji digital compacts but could just as easily relate to any...
