I have a WG501 Started working great then I must have picked up something, the vacuum dropped and the noise became less. I cleaned out the debris but it never seemed to sound like it had full vacuum again and would pull anything up. I only used it twice.

You can use it for blowing without the bag. You should have the bag in place for vacuuming and have the zipper closed.

Have you checked that the vacuum tube is secure? There will be a safety switch that the vacuum tube engages with so that it can only be used when the pipe is secured to prevent injury.
