Troy Bilt 22HP Hydrostatic 46" Riding Mower Questions & Answers
My mower is hard to get in gear is there a way you can adjust it
In a word, yes.
Someone needs to raise the mower up in the air and take apart all the gear shifting mechanism, and see where the "sticking" is.
Start with the transmission, see if it engages freely. Intermediate shafts and bars and cables can get rusty, or clogged with grass or dirt, and you may have the clutch sticking.
There are a few adjustments of levers and cables you should find.
Going over it piece by piece should fix you right us as you discover the problem area.
God bless your efforts.
Remove pto
Assuming it is the electric PTO you are asking about, they are mounted to the bottom of the crankshaft. There is 1 bolt up thru the center. Find the power wires running to it, and unplug them, should be fairly close to the pto. Then take out the bolt, and the clutch should then slide down and off. You may have to remove the mower deck to get good access.
Gasoline runs through carb and out muffler
The needle valve isn't seating and sealing off the flow of fuel, you also need to check your oil to make sure it doesn't have fuel mixed in with the oil, it can ruin your engine, quick fix install an inline fuel shut off valve and turn it off when you shut the engine off, and this will fix the problem.

might be low oil sensor trying to shut the engine down, on a hillside the oil would go to one side and the sensor is thing the unit is low on oil.
BURN WIRE HARNESS
Are you willing to pay? I have a whole yard of mowers. I fix them, buy, and sell them daily. I have a shop full of every mower related part you can imagine. If not I will come across one very soon. Keep in mind there could be a bigger issue that caused the burned harness.
