Stating the obvious the carb is flooding and allowing fuel into the engine, this means the needle in the carb float bowl is leaking, it may just be a case of removing the float bowl, float and needle and cleaning, or you may need to replace the needle itself.
Need to inspect/replace coil on cd380 Chain Saw. Can't get the fan/stator off its shaft to get to the coil. What is the procedure--have no manual.
By rotor i guess you mean the flywheel, the flywheel is on a taper on the crank and will be very tight and will require a puller to remove it, you can remove the pawls and clips which will give you four threaded holes which you can manufacture a puller using these threads, this may all be in vain as there will be no new ignition parts available for it, all the testing in the world will not help if there is no spark then the electronic unit will be shot, from memory it was a SEM unit, the later 480 had a much better quality SEM unit which would fit however this would mean replacing the flywheel as well, these components were also used on the 265rx brush cutter so may well still be available.
How does Husqvarna 445 chain saw scavenging work
This machine has an x torque cylinder, on a conventional two stroke engine the piston rises, the vacuum created in the crankcase draws the fuel in, the piston lowers which compresses the fresh charge which in turn sends the fresh charge up the transfer ports to the top of the piston, an amount of the fresh charge is lost pushing out the exhaust charge out of the exhaust, on the 455 engine you have two addition air ports, now as the piston rises the fresh charge is drawn into the crankcase in the conventional way, but fresh air is taken in through the two air ports, fed around the sides of the piston via cut a ways in the piston skirt and fed into the top of the transfer ports ( note the length of the transfer ports) now when the fresh charge is compressed and sent up the transfer ports the fresh air that was fed in the top of the transfer port helps to push out the old exhaust charge, no loss of fresh charge so lower emissions and more power, a win win.
Kohler engine troubleshooting
Engine hunting is usually down to fuel starvation, this can be dirt in the carb, or the fuel pump is not working correctly, or the anti fire solinoid on the base of the float bowl is not working correctly, you can check the fuel flow from the pump by removing the fuel hose from the carb, place the hose in a suitable container now crank the engine, there should be a good flow of fuel, if so replace the hose, now remve the fuel solinoid from the bottom of the fuel bowl ( place a suitable bowl under the carb as there will be a flow of fuel) switch the igntion on, there should be a click and the small pin in the centre of the solinoid should retract into the housing, if this is ok then there is dirt in the carb so you will have to clean the jets in the carb itself.
What magneto does the 550ex Briggs and Stratton engine use
Sorry i do not understand the question, the ignition unit it a pretty standard Briggs unit, if you need a replacement unit take the model type and code of the engine ( this will be punched into the blower housing at the front just above the spark plug ) take or ring the numbers into a Briggs dealer and they will order for you,
Air filter
There should be either a bolt in the middle of the filter or clips on the side depending on the model of the product.
