20 Most Recent Mitsubishi VS-4544 45" TV Questions & Answers

Its a old set but hookup should from a DVD player be to the rear audio and video inputs---note color of jacks on player--you will need for that old set composite--yellow(video and color), red and white for sound.

If the player does not have them (composite) you have a real problem.

Once connected use the input button on the front of the set to change to that input that you hooked the player up to (video 1 or 2 etc.)

You got a issue with the power supply if the green light goes off and does not bring it back to standby.

One of th issues could be a bad capcitor, A fuse, a resistor its hard to tell without me doing a visual inspection on the unit. I would have a estimate done on it if it cost more then $150 upwards it would be in your best intrest to replace the tv at that point. But I would have the power supply checked.

If you like my advice please rate the solution.

I'll take a guess here that the lines are at a slight angle. I believe that these are "retrace" lines and are an indication that the flyback transformer is starting to fail. The vertical IC would cause a collapse of the picture and bad caps in the circuit would effect the linearity of the picture. You can check for poor solder joints as they could cause any nunber of symptoms.

Keep us posted.

lose connection is a common problem of tv, try to resolder but be careful of short circuit ,

Sounds like the Horizontal Output Transistor shorted. TVs are dangerous to work on if you are not trained. The transistor can be checked easily with a dmm. If it is bad the flyback should probably be replaced too. If it is ok, you have a short somewhere else and need to isolate systems until the fuses quit blowing or hook it up to a variac and do checking to see where the short is. My bet is on the HOT. Again, if you are not qualified have a professional look at it. Good luck.

No error code 61 listed, only a 66 error code which indicates lamp issues:
66
A) Lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence... Check CJ4 circuitry
B) No Lamp Inserted............... No Lamp inserted
C) Disconnected cable between ballast and lamp.... HV connection or lead wire to lamp.
D) Lamp-Enable goes to PWB-MAIN but not to Ballast....Lamp Cartridge Failure

for lamp see the following web site: http://www.shopjimmy.com/dlplamps?tv_brands_select=Mitsubishi&tv_models=Mitsubishi+WD-73638
recommend using the manufacture part# as many replacements for Mitsubishi will not work.

Could be you need to set the output volume on your receiver for the soundbar. Most receivers allow volume output for each speaker
