Using the keyword friend on a function declaration in class A permits declaring a function outside of the class, which is able to access private and protected members of class A.

A friend class, is a relationship where another class B is given access to the private and protected members of class A.

A few good examples are given in the following article:

Friendship and inheritance

Cheers!

The main cause of this error is you havent set the environment variables correctly, you can do it as follows

Right click on "My Computers" select properties the click "Environment variables" then under "User variables for pcname"

select new and add the following paths

1)var name:path
var value:C:\Java\jdk1.5\bin

2)var name:classpath
var value:C:\YourJavaCodeDirName

click ok and its done

Handling character strings in Java is supported through two final
classes: Java String and StringBuffer. The String class implements immutable character strings, which are read-only once the string has been created and initialized, whereas the StringBuffer class implements dynamic character strings. All string literals in Java programs, are implemented as instances of String class. Strings in Java are 16-bit Unicode.

I think they meant the software altogether.
Here's the link, just install.
If you already have java then repair your IE and reinstall Firefox.
Click Start, then Control Panel, then Add/Remove Program, go to Internet Explorer, right click IE then select repair.
Do the same thing for Mozilla Firefox, except this time uninstall then reinstall program.
That might work. Let me know.

Incase it's easier in Dutch:
Laat me het weten.
