My latops speaers are not givig out sound
First check whether the audio volume is not muted, and turn the volume all the way up, if you didn't already try that.
Did you try playing the system sounds? Enable them from the Control Panel (double click the sound and audio devices icon from the Control Panel), if you didn't try them, or if they aren't enabled. Then, play one of the system sounds from the "Sounds and Audio Devices" (second tab, labeled sound).
Can you see a speaker icon in your system tray? If yes, double click it. Do you get the 'Master Volume' control or do you get a message that says something like you don't have audio enabled?
If you get such a message, then the audio drivers are missing or corrupted, or not properly installed.
If you can open the Windows Device Manager, open it and check whether the sound drivers are present and are functioning correctly.
(For opening it in Windows 7, open the Control Panel from the Start Menu. Click on the System and Security link. In the System and Security window, click on the Device Manager link located under the System heading. (Another easier way is to click the Start button and type the following command in the search box: devmgmt.msc Then, hit the enter key.
In Device Manager, expand the 'Sound, video and game controllers' (click the plus sign next to it). See that the sound driver is listed. Double click the item in that list that contains the word "audio device" in its name. Does Device Manager say that the device is working properly?
Instead of manually searching for the drivers, or your old drivers CD (you probably don't even remember where you kept it), you can download this driver scanning tool from here: http://xpdrivers.com/index.cfm or directly from this link: http://xpdrivers.com/download/download.cfm
After you download it, double-click it to install it and follow the simple instructions and run this tool to scan your system. It will inform you and update the needed sound drivers.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Raspal
