You're going to have to obtain a service manual. Unless some other expert has one and is willing to share, the specific teeth on each gear has to align with another, otherwise, you may begin tearing off teeth from the gear.

All CD players are digital. Most (including your Yamaha changer) use a digital-to-analog converter to send audio to your receiver.

If you are like most people, the CD player is hooked up with red-and-white audio cables. This is an analog type of connection, and should still sound great.

Hi...
If taking the cover off doesnt scare you, Unplug the AC and any other cables.
Take the top off the unit.
Get a can of compressed CO2 "Dust-off" or similar . Shoot a couple few sprays of that in towards the laser pickup area. Check for dust or grime anywhere near the laser area and clean.

Look underneath the unit for an access hole . It may be labeled as such.
Some CD units offer a manual drawer open device under there.

If you're really brave, unplug the unit and remove the case screws. Pop off the case and get your CD back. The you might need a draw belt. See prbline.com or studiosoundelectronics.com
