i would let the glue set for at least a few hours before inserting the screw. use an industrial strength (contractors) glue stick

you can find it on ebay, but what is the problem and i can try to help you

just use super glue or rubber cement, you don't even need a glue gun.

go to the arts and crafts section in wal mart and bring the gun, you should be able to find a stick that will fit

Try returning the glue gun at the local sears store for an exchange for one which uses round glue sticks.

Plug it into wall outlet and let it become hot (without plugin any glue into ) about an hour..
When it gets hotter the molded glue in the back channel/barrel of the gun will be melted and back side will be freed to accept a new glue stick.
