Eurka model 5892 bottom quit working a week ago top still works belt is not broke i pushed reset button and still nothing.i sucked carpet string is how it happened

Eureka the Boss central vac won't turn off unless unplugged at base unit. Reset switch doesn't do anything. It does turn off if low voltage is disconnected.

Eureka optima lightweight vacuum removing hose from body
There should be a push tab where the hose attaches to the vacuum. Just push the tab and turn to the left. That should release it. Then you should be able to get it back on the same way except you don't have to push the locking tab. It should just snap back on by twisting it to the right.
