If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose DeleteAfter deleting the keys, close the registry editorReboot your computerOpen My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. you might have to many programs running at the same time putting to much strain on the cpu central processing unit if you right click in the bottom toolbar select task manager applicarions also processes if you see something you dont want or need to be running select end now you might
you might uninstall some unnecessary programs
have a virus slowing you down or not enough computer RAM enabling the cpu to keep up

Please follow the below steps,

1. Make sure there is no loose connection in the cable of the DVD RAM drive , try changing the slot if that is possible.
2. Secondly , make sure you have a lens cleaner so that you can clean the lens and then check if things work fine.
3. If the problem persists , the better option would be to get it checked via a external drive connector and see if it works fine or check it at your friend's PC and see the results,
4. If then the problem persists, then it's surely an indication that the drive will die soon and will not be able to read anything or even probably be detected.
