20 Most Recent Toshiba Satellite L505DES5025 Notebook Questions & Answers

If you have visited the Toshiba website and downloaded and installed the latest drivers from there, then I would suggest that the on board Audio controller is defective and should be replaced. Check your guarantee and see if it can be returned to dealer/maker for repair.

Why does it not work? What is the problem with it?

Is the webcam driver installed in the Device Manager under Imaging Device? Click Start/Control Panel then look for System or System and Performance. Open it and look for the Device Manager. It might be under hardware depending on your operating system. Once you have the Device Manager open look for Imaging Device. If you see it click the + sign next to Imaging Device to expand it to see the webcam. Make sure it says it is working properly.

If you don't see it under Imaging Device then you need to go to the manufacturers website and download the webcam drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Webcam drivers.

Maybe it is installed but you don't know how to start the webcam. There are not buttons or switches to make it start. It is driven by the application software program.

You have to open the webcam software to activate or start the webcam. There is no button to push or switch to turn on. The webcam software is somewhere in the program list. Click Start/Programs then search for any reference to webcam or camera. Sometimes the webcam might be inside one of the manufacturers folders in the program list so search the folders for it. Some manufacturers have something like Entertainment Experience that will open and show all the entertainment devices such as the dvd drive, webcam, media player, etc. if you see it click it to launch it then click on the webcam or camera icon.

Try using ManyCam

You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where your webcam software is.

You need to redownload the iTunes. to do that, go to www.filehippo.com and search for itunes, click on itunes and it will open another page, on the right side you will see there download. just click on it and it will download to your computer. Remember the location where you will save the installer, coz you're gonna be using it.

open the iTunes installer from the folder where you saved it. just run it and follow the steps to instal. basically you will just click next and next to install it. it's simple to install

hope that helps. please let me know if you will have a hard time installing it.

for a boot what? bootfile? Well the bootfile is either corrupt in your HDD or your trying to change the operating system with a bad CD that is missing the bootfile. Last possibilty is you have a bad hard drive. I am just guessing because you didnt say what u were doing when it happened and all it says is missing boot****

Do you have a wifi card in the computer? It is a hardware part that you need so that the computer can connect to the wifi. If you have that but can't find it in the operating system. I suggest that you either install or update the driver for it.
You can use RadarSync to scan your computer for the available updates of your wifi driver. Make sure that you connect to the internet first using your ethernet so that it will detect the available driver updates somewhere in the databases of the manufacturer.

Remove the battery and see if it starts up fine, if not then try the following:

1. Unplug your charger cord.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Press and hold the "Power" button for 30 seconds or longer
4. Now plug back in the power/charger cord.
5. Now put the battery back in.
6. See if it starts up now, laptops often get stuck in hibernate mode.
