How to oil shredder
You can oil the cutter blades by taking some 3 in 1 light weight oil and soaking a couple pieces of paper and running it through your shredder. This also keeps the blades sharp and is a good maintenance trick to keep your shredder working better.
You can try to oil the bushings at the end of the cutter shafts with a spray like wd-40, but we suggest that you give it a very very very short spray, and do NOT saturate the shredder because you could short out the sensors, boards, motor. etc.. The proper way to oil it would be taking it apart and lubing it up like a technician would.
Hope this helps.
I can't get the door open do empty the shredding
You have probably got the bin so full it is stuck/jammed full of paper and you now can't remove it...this is a "consumer" model machine and to keep cost low they do not provide a "bag-full" light on the panel...you should regularly empty the bin so that the shredded paper does not totally jam the bin and in extreme cases then get caught back up into the cutting machanism and blow the pcb inside the machine...check your "users" instructions to remove the bin.
Unable to open
Hold on to top of shredder with one hand and use other hand to pull the indented handle on the front of the bin.
Be sure to have do this outside or on something easy to sweep, because it will be all over no matter how carefule you are.
Don't know how to open
If the basket does not slide easily out of the shredder cabinet it maybe "jammed full" of shredded paper which is preventing the basket from sliding out. There is a clear concave "handle" on the front of the basket which users should reference to determine the fullness of the basket. I pulled out and pressed upward on the "handle" it easily popped in towards the basket. From there it was possible to remove enough of the shredded paper to allow the basket to slide out. WARNING: UNPLUG THE MACHINE AND REMOVE THE PUPPY FROM THE ROOM.
