20 Most Recent Magnavox DV225MG9 DVD Player VCR Questions & Answers

For all practical purposes, it means it's dead - sorry to say - as is VCR generally. Get every tape you can out of there and convert it to DVD, and even that medium is on the wane.

I hate to sound elitist or negative, but VCR is over, much in the same way that cassette tapes are over. It is even getting hard to find DVD recorders which stand alone. Additionally, I would urge you to record all of your home movies and significant recordings to DVD while you can. VCR tapes degrade pretty rapidly compared to DVD. And now, even DVD is on the way out. Get up to speed. You'll be glad you did!

You select the player as a video input source. Channel selection has nothing to do with it.

Yes there is a region code built into the dv220mw9a depending on the region where the unit was sold. The version sold in the US will only read region 1 or All region DVDs.

Where was your DVD player purchased and what region code is on the DVDs? Please add a comment with more information on your problem.

The gears have jammed, the timing gear is out of sync, or the loading belt has broken, Unplug unit for 60 seconds and at the sametime press and hold power for the full duration in hopes this will reset the mechanism. Now plug in and power up, if no change! you will need someone to look at it.
