Check to see if the fan blower is no dirty, because dirt on the fan fan blower can cause it not to start on its own.

The capacitor on the unit of the fan may be bad and will need to be replace.

Seal all openings on the wall with foam to avoid Icing form. Install the unit in correct position to avoid water entering in the room.
