closed the unit down now press the start button and hold down the delete button to get it to start in bios check the boot sequence there adjust as required and save

Did you get a set of restore disks with laptop? Or did you make the system restore disks yourself when you got the unit? If neither apply you are out of luck and you can do either one of two things.- contact the manufacturer for restore disks or just get a hold of the OS disks for the system you want and do a clean install. Of course, the latter will not include any of the software that came with your machine initially.

Try holding fn key and hitting scroll lock or num lock to see if that does it. sounds like you have somehow locked your fn key on.

Can you give more description on how your screen is zooming? is it zoomed already when opened or is it zooming while working ?

Resistors are not sold by voltage, but by their resistance and the max power they can dissipate. The value is usually printed on it as a three digit number (e.g. 473 means 47000 ohms). If you cannot read anything - you said its blown - youre out of luck. You could find someone else with the same PC and look at his motherboard. Anyway - if a resistor is blown, there is a reason for it. It is not a bomb, so it wont blow on itself. Probably something in your PC is defective, which causes the resistor to blow.

This is most probaby because of a loose display cable connection .As the cable runs through the hinge slot to the mainboard of the laptop, open the laptop full and try pressing carefully on the left side of the laptop near the hinges area. this should give you the display back.

Remove anything that's plugged into it (USB keys, USB mouse etc.) Try power up. If fails, continue. Remove power supply, and battery. Hold power button for 1minute. Insert battery and power supply. Try power up. If fails, continue. Hook up to external monitor/tv. Power on. Can you see anything on the TV? Remove the RAM chips. Try power up. Does it beep? If NO then your motherboard is broken (specifically issue with CMOS) If yes, could be graphics related. Bring it to a PC shop for full diagnosis.

Any problem with components like hardware/software.If it doesnt work, Take it to a technician.Dont mess with it yourself as it may damage the product.

Try reinstalling the audio driver. You can download the audio and device drivers from ASUS WEB site. Select your model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select drivers that matches your Windows operating system.
