Like many stereo systems in our vehicles, an anti theft program is installed to make your device inoperable if the battery is disconnected. Your owners manual usually has a section about how to prevent lock out. Sometimes, the device cannot be recovered..what the program is designed to do.

I have the same problem it used to play but now nothing and the counter is going and the music is playing because I pick it up fine on my hansfree blue tooth. So yes it is playing

It sounds like the "always on" power may not be connected to the stereo. I'd double-check the wiring. There should be two power connections, one for when the key is on, and one that is always on.

in-dash nav systems are neat but my Toy system is trash compared to my Garmin. BUT updates are usually expensive - so much so that you are better off buying a Garmin with lifetime maps that you can continue using when you get another vehicle.
