I have been using panasonic batteries in my mp3
It will be best to reset the player as the processor has hung up.If the battery voltage is correct and the charge is good - check on a device or measure votlage/current - the fault can be only with the player. Any fault within will need technical help as there are not much components to be replaced.
How do I get started
Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses.
Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX.
If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format.
You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Sounds like the internal battery is bad. The USB supplies power to it when it is hooked to the computer. If the device is not accepting the charge the it will power off when disconnected.
You may be able to find an electronics place to replace the battery, BUT it will probably cost more than buying an inexpensive MP3 at the store.

I connected mp3 to computer but nothing happened
Let me guess, it didn't do anything becuase it has not reconized the installation of it, this sounds like the same problem i'm facing with my Trio V430 Mp4 player. I would suggest that you get another cord, if you can and if that doesn't work then have your computer checked out for it's USB Ports.
Want to take song off my player. how do i do it?

Brand new player, just out
Sure I can help. I think you need to re-install the software for the device then your computer will recognize the unit. Here is a link for the Owners manual: http://www.gpx.com/owners_manuals/MW249S-IB.pdf
I was unable to find a driver for this unit which leads me to believe that GPX has left it up to your computer to recognize the unit. Go to the control panel on the start menu in windows and then click on system then click on the Hardware tab then below you should see a button that says "Device Manager" you will see a drop down of everything your computer has on it look for the devices with errors commonly down toward the bottom you may see your MP3 player has a problem click on it and tell it to update. I sure hope I didn't confuse you here. if you are still having troubles try the software DriverCure
it has come in handy for me. Thanks, Cody
