Getting White residue on dishes and glasses and
Hi,
Residue on your dishes can be caused by inadequate drainage of the machine. Most new machines are pumping the gray water through 6+ feet of hose to an air gap,(that chrome thing next to your faucet) and then on in to a disposal or right into the sink drain plumbing. The problem is occurring when the pump finishes and then all of the gray water remaining in the 6 feet of hose flows back into the machine!!! So in a nut shell you are never getting all of the dirty water with its associated food particles(which tend to collect in the bottom of the machine due to this feature of gravity ) The ONLY way to fix this problem and get your dish machine to drain everything all of the time is to re-route the drain connection to a point lower than the pump in the bottom of the machine.
Also the problem can be caused for hard water and there is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it actually filters the water going into your dishwasher and leaves your dishes spot free. after the first load i was amazed that the white film was gone and my dishes were sparkling. you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com
Also its possible you have a low water fill problem or maybe a water temperature problem. The water should be at least 120 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit to start with. Gel soaps can cause a lot of problems with scum and leaving a white residue, mostly when there is not enough water in the dishwasher. After it fills there should be water almost up to the heating element. Please accept the solution if it's helpful. Do get back to us for any further query.

Normal wash cycle is over 2 hours?
Hello there
If your dishwasher's cycle times are too long,
check these:

Water pre-heating
Your dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and
if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to
half an hour to heat the water.
To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water
temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the
kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the
temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water
heater.
Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set
the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

If it is not overfilling, and then leaking, the whirring noise can be a defective water inlet valve, that stays stuck on open, see here :
It's overfillingIf it is not overfilling, the two problems may be unrelated, and the noise can be froma foreign object inside the object trap.
See here about leaks and noise

YOUR MAN WAS OF ABSOLUTLY NO HELP IN SOLVING MY PROBLEM. I ENDED UP CALLING SEARS AND THEY SENT A TECH OUT. YOUR MAN SAID TO TAKE THE DISHWASHER OUT AND TURN IN ON IT'S BACK AND I COULD ACCESS THE PUMP. THE TECH SAID THIS WAS NOT TRUE. YOU CAN ACCESS THE PUMP FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DISHWASHER. IT IS APPARENT TO ME THAT YOUR TECH HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE MACHINE. AS IT TURNED OUT, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE DISHWASHER. IT HAD A KINK IN THE DISCHARGE HOSE.....P

The blinking buttons indicate the buttons are bad. The console will have to be replaced.

If it is doing when it is washing, then it likely to be a problem with the pump, but it might just be 'hunting' because the filters are partially blocked. There is the filter that you can see easily, but there is a fine filter underneath that blocks with fine grey lint.
Water left in the bottom can be caused by that because the drain pump is past the filter and is on a timer.
