The problem is caused by either its main controller board or button controller board.Well, I will try to change button board first, because it's cheap.If you have never open up the LCD monitor, please don't open it up and try to fix!Either you will damage the monitor when you open and/or be shocked by high voltage electricity!!

Open the menu and change the brightness/contrast settings. If there is no change or if the picture seems dim, then it is a possible fault in the power section within the monitor or a fault in the display driver/convertor section.

There are lethal voltages inside your monitor even when its turned off and unplugged. If you are going to open it be very careful.

You may find some visibly swollen electrolytic capacitors, or some bad solder joints... but you will not be able to diagnose any other faults without some test equipment.
