Clean light blinks
The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models. I believe the problem is attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there was some sensitivity issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers. There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter
diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation. To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen to heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that you will fill the dishwasher with hot water water instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines before the hot water from the hot water tank heats the line. This should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on what the flashing light sequence is in determining WHAT component is bad. Let me know if this helps you. about the only thing to try would be to remove the inner door panel to get to the control bd then you will see a mylar ribbon looks like a fat piece of scotch tape pull up on the plastic connector that holds it in and pull the ribbon out then get a clean pencil eraser and gently clean the ribbon and put it back in dont forget to push the locking tab back down then try it again and let me know
My dish washer does not drian completly
the water must pump uphill to the air gap. the last water in the line drops down the hose, and is in quantity equally to the volume of the hose from the bottom of the pump to the top of the hose. that flows to the bottom of the sump in the unit. if enough, it appears as residual water in the bottom. its ok.

Cannot get lock button to go off
1. possible timer issue.
2. motor wear. the motor may be heat protected. if it is worn, or the pump it is attached to is worn, it may overheat. when that happens it shuts off until it cools down. if there are sufficient sensors and boards, some appliances will send information to the timer of an interrupt, which might reset the cycle.
3. drain plugged. if water does not pump out, the rinse cycle will continue to run on many units. this can relate to a general pump problem as well as a plug. inspect the hose for kinks and if it goes to an air gap at the sink, it may be plugged there. lift of the chrome dome, there is a cap at the top of the device you can see once the chrome dome is off. then, put a bowl over the air gap with a towel around the gap on the back side only so the water does not run onto the counter (if you care) and then run the rinse cycle if you can and let the pump out run directly to the sink. that will clear a clog. often clogs come to the top of the air gap, hit the cap and stay there. when you open the cap to inspect, you may not see the plug, as it drops back down the hose until pump is pushing water up the hose again. lawn sprinklers have the same problem sometimes. the clog drops down when you remove the sprinkler to see why its clogged.
