After i tried to burn a dual layer dvd it got burn

Hi,Try this. Here's How:
  1. Click on the Start button. If you're using Windows XP, also click on Run.
  2. In the search box (Windows 7 and Windows Vista) or the Run textbox (Windows XP) type regedit and click OK or press the ENTER key. This will open the Registry Editor program. Important: Changes to the registry are made in these steps. Take care in making only the changes outlined below. While it's not a necessary step to complete this process, I recommend that you play it safe by backing up the registry keys you're modifying.
  3. Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder under Computer/My Computer and click the '> or (+) icon next to the folder name to expand the folder.
  4. Continue to expand folders until you reach the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class registry key.
  5. Click on the '> or (+) icon next to the Class key to expand it. You should see a long list of subkeys open up under Class that look something like this: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. Note: Each 32-digit subkey is unique and corresponds to a particular type, or class, of hardware in Device Manager.
  6. Determine the Correct Class GUID for the Hardware Device. Using this list, find the correct Class GUID corresponding to the type of hardware that you're seeing the Device Manager error code for.Hope this helps.Regards,Meir

You just need to download and update the firmware for your DVD drive. You will get the firmware from LG website.

Your optical drive might be defective. Most DVD-RW drives last less than 2 years. You should get a new one.

Not reading all kinds of disc sony and benq cdrw

If your CD/DVD writer is not reading disks at all then there is problem in your drive's lens.
To fix it you have to open the writer and clean the lens .
If you don't want to clean the lens manually then there is a disk called "CD lens cleaner" available in the market , buy it and insert the disk into your drive.
This will automatically clean the lens
But if you want to do it yourself then please follow the below steps.
First of all take out the CD/DVD writer out and remove all the screws and slide the cover to open it.
As you see the lens don't touch it with your finger but clean it with cotton cloth. After cleaning it place the cover and close it.
Now try any disk in it. If it works then you are done.

But if it is not reading the disks then you have to change it.

Hope the above information is helpful to you.
Thanks for using fixya

LG GH22 LS50 (Sata Dvd Writer) Will not write dvd discs

What software do u use to write DVDs on both PCs...
if they are different then that may be the issue....
dont spoil the DVDs....
try DVD RW disks...that way you can erase them later...
i too have the same DVD writer, not had any issue in either XP or Win7....i have dual boot and have made many movie DVDs using both OS...i use Nero and Power2Go of LG(the install disk that came with the LG DVD writer has this great software...."LG Power tool")
try this tool...it should work...

the inbuilt DVD creator in Win7 has some issues with DVD creation....due to non compatibility of graphics card and display drivers (WDDM)....+ you may not have the correct codec required to burn DVDs.....
get the FFDSHOW codec from google.... and install it...shutdown and restart and then try...
let me have a feedback pls...

I'm not sure what lightscribe

Hi,
Using lightscribe technology you can burn labels directly onto CDs and DVDs. I don't think that you're DVD writer does affect your PC's OS good operation. Maybe you have a problem with your operating system, it can be infected by a virus or spyware. Ensure that you have an antivirus installed and it's working (you can install Avira and Malwarebytes), do a system scan and see if it's infection free.

If this is the solution for your problem, please rate my post, otherwise give us more details.

Regards,
Andras

What SATA cables are required

All SATA devices use the same cables. There are 2. The wider one is the power, and the skinny one is for data. They tend to be red in color, and have keyed ends that prevent being put on wrong.
