yes it can be replaced, although you will need a steady hand and a fine soldering iron tip. first if the unit is still under warenty, any "tampering" by yourself will void it. if the unit is under waranty i would take it to a registered repairer.
If it is not, or you are not fussed with voiding it, then after you remove the outer case you will find the faulty componant fairly easy. (make sure there is no power and that it has been at least ten min) so as to avoid any residual charge. then after locating the faulty part, make sure you remove all solder connecting it very carefully, then replace with a like part or one that you would like to fit, paying VERY close attention to making sure that you do not cross any solder over the circuit board as you will cross circuits potentially causing fatal damage to the unit. after that has been done you will be able to refit the cover.
(please note: if it is a later model amp, then it will have LED's not a neon globe.(will not change the procedure, just have to be a little more careful))
kind regards

That indicates a short. Either inside the amp or the speaker wires or the speaker themselves are short. Remove the speaker connection if it is still in protection mode then you have an internal short. You can reset these they are there to prevent electrical fire. The only solution is to find the short and fix it.

No "fault" lights? If not it HAS to be a connection...whether they look bad or not, Redo them, ground FIRST.
Good Luck

very simple run a ground from gnd on amp to a good ground spot on car run 12 volt power cable from back of fuse relay by battery to 12v+ on amp then splice blue wire on back of stereo splice in another wire about seven feet run that to remote on amp then hook up speakers its pretty simple to hook up an amp hope this helps

Check all the wiring. It could be a loose connection since it's intermitent. Really pay attention to the power cable, both the end for the amp and the one that's going to the battery cable.

The most common cause for an amp to go into protection is shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible causes, read through the following page.

add doide from the battery to the unit, 2 doide should help that.
1 connected to the positive, an 1 connected to the negative. 5-10 amperes is ok. check for the polarity. and try to take off the ground of the unit then try it.
