Sometimes the venting in the dryer needs ton be cleaned out as it plugs up and the high limit thermostat makes it short cycle on the heat cycle.

Check the idler. Sounds like it froze up?

Get a dryer vent cleaner and stick it in as far as it will go. You have a plug somehwere in the vent and it needs to be cleared, try doing this from the top down to avoid making the clog worse

To me it sounds like you could have the polarity reversed on the wiring. Also is the outlet that it is plugged in to grounded that alone will cause a shock to be given off, Have goods holiday, biigg53566+

The windings in the motor have been overheated to the point that the insulation is burnt off. I call this pre installed smoke. If it is let out replace the motor. There should be a local appliance parts dealer that can help you get the motor.

If your clothes get marked or torn in your dryer, check these:

Rollers
Rear seal
Front glides
Front seal
Rollers Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rollers wear out, you need to replace the whole set.
