Based on your information given maam, I can say that your LCD is not working well but sometimes it happens that there is a problem on its connection to circuit board..This is usually I encounter maam as a most experienced technician.Thanks.

On the side there is a video out socket ( sometimes marked AV out and yellow in color ). You will have to get an interconnecting cable to link it to your TV. The back of the TV will have corresponding yellow/red/white sockets. The yellow is for video and the red/white is for left/right audio. Your player comes with this cable along with the AC adapter .

Look for a special special connector that may or may not have come with your unit. It will be a Y connector with a plug in jack on one end and VGA (red, yellow, white) jacks on the other. Plug this end into an input on your tv.

There should be a switch on either side of the DVD player that says "TFT" and something else.
Shut the DVD player down, move the switch, and turn it back on.

BTW, the the switch lets you choose between using the output A/V cables and the DVD player screen.

Try a wet lens cleaner from any good audio or video store.

Question edited for clarity, full 'make model (what it is)'. This is an Amazon, eBay, Newegg, Overstock special and basically a device without a maker. There is a South African minerals company that share the same name but no Mintek maker of electronics. The only option would be to take it to a computer or electronics repair shop locally and see if they can diagnose. If it has the RCA (Red,White,Yellow) ports you will have to use those. In that case if you are using something like a DVD player that only has HDMI output you will need a special cable that goes from RCA to HDMI. Here is a quick link for you to reference.
