I would like to know where the tiny hole in the front of the tray is?
I can't help with a picture of the same unit as you have, perhaps you can post a picture of yours with DVD face removed (there isn't such a hole on the intact unit). so that I can inspect it. Your DVD player may not have such a hole. If you consult your user manual I think it tells to you to take the unit to a Sony service centre, but you could the support section of their website. Meantime I attach a picture of computer DVD player, with the hole inside a white ellipse that I have marked in between the LG logo and the button. It's not very visible, being less than 1 mm in diameter (just wider than a paperclip)

Unusable signal
This is a resolution mismatch problem. One of the devices will not accept the resolution of the other. Try another type of connection or try another input.
TRAY LOCKED HENCE IS RESISTANT TO OPEN
BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHILE TRYING IT :
(1) USE SOME HARD PLASTIC NEEDLE.
(2) TRY TO LOCATE A VERY LITTLE WHOLE BENEATH YOUR DVD TRAY.
(3) PUSH YOUR NEEDLE IN THAT WHOLE SLOWLY, GRADUALLY INCREASING PRESSURE.
(4) IT WILL CAUSE THE TRAY TO OPEN, ONCE IT OPENS A LITTLE, YOU MAY SLOWLY PULL IT TOWARDS YOURSELF AND REMOVE YOUR CD/DVD FROM THERE.
(5) REMEMBER TO TURN OFF YOUR PLAYER FROM MAINS BEFORE TRYING.
(6) IF YOU FIND YOURSELF UNCOMFORTABLE DOING SO, CALL YOUR CUSTOMER CARE CENTER / SERVICE CENTER. IF WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, YOU MAY CALL ANY OUTSIDE PROFESSIONAL OR A COMPUTER HARDWARE PROFESSIONAL.
BE VERY VERY CAREFUL NOT TO INSERT ANY GOOD CONDUCTOR OBJECTS IN THAT TRAY WHOLE OR YOU MAY GET AN ELECTRIC SHOCK ALSO!!!
Eject problem
There is a very small access hole on the front panel - use a paper clip - insert it into the hole and push gently and it should eject.
Sound
Are all the 3 cable plugs inserted properly (yellow, white, red) or is it a scart lead? You may need to buy a new scart lead ( or 3 wired scart cables) as there could be a problem with the links or just the wires themselves
Why is there no color
If using component video out please make sure that all cables are firmly and securely connected to the player and the TV. -Component = Green/Blue/Red cables or jacks. If using the video out please make sure that the TV color settings are not set to grey or black and white. If everything is connected properly I would recommend to connect the player to another TV to see if the same issue will occur. Also check the color settings on the DVD player under picture mode.Ref:

Buzzing noise
If its doing it when turned off its in the standby power supply inside the unit which runs 7/24 if the unit is plugged to power.
Turn off after while
you will need to remove the cover of the dvd player, then look for the power supply board. if you noticed that have bulged electrolytic capacitors you will need to replaced. it was a leak and will cause of hard to turn on the circuit because of low voltage output from the power supply board.
