I need the Huskylock 936 guide to setup the cover stitch. It is just a sheet of paper with many steps. Does anyone have it? thank you

Husqvarna Viking has the text instructions and for a couple of cover-stitch options on the Huskylock 936 page: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/en-US/Machines/HUSKYLOCK-936 . The link to these instructions are here: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/SiteMedia/EN/US/Documents/Learning%20Center/Huskylock_Specialty_Techniques_x_.pdf?ext=.pdf . There is also a video for setting up a triple cover stitch in the How-To tutorial. Note: the video requires Adobe Flash Player to run. The manual has a section on the cover stitch starting at page 40. This is available here: http://manuals.husqvarnaviking.com/VSM/Husqvarna%20Viking/HVManual.nsf/1fd5659e6f37141041256697003e64c0/de210fba65cb0805852575ed0070df04/$FILE/Huskylock_936_manual_EN.pdf . I hope the steps in one of these files helps you set up the serger. Cindy Wells

Huskylock 936 coverstitch will not form stitches

I just went thru the EXACT same thing, pulled up YouTube videos and discovered it was all about (1) how the LOOPER was threaded (the video taught me it is called "the puppy dogs head/ears" and that to thread it you follow the path of the ORANGE DOT (which often is combined with either blue/black, but just look for the ORANGE dot path no matter what the other color is with it) and that thread goes: "Around the puppy dog's neck and behind his ears". Honest to God this was part of my problem. (2) TENSION settings: I also discovered that even though the 936 has the adviser has all recommended settings for the stitches, you still NEED to tinker with the tensions. Specifically, I was set up for the WIDE COVERSTITCH to hem a knit skirt. I selected the KNIT MEDIUM (Auto M4) stitch and used these tensions: A needle 4, E needle 6, Looper was ok at 3. It worked like a charm and FINALLY I can do the stitch! Seriously, there are many YouTube videos (many lousy quality) that actually show and explain this stitch and how to set up your machine. Hope this helps!!! Good luck and happy sewing!

My Husqvarna serger No. 936

Computerized sewing machines/sergers are like computers. Components go bad. Unfortunately, much like computers, they are expensive to repair if the parts are available. You can probably take to another repair person for a second opinion.

I have a Huskylock 936

Recommend you remove all the threads and rethread from the beginning. ALWAYS RAISE THE PRESSER FOOT when threading and thread the upper looper first, the lower looper second. Sergers sometimes are temperamental about threading. When in doubt, start over from the beginning.

Error message "overloaded" will not sew. What does this mean?

Page 15 of the Manual says that it means "remove fabric and begin sewing again". If that doesn't resolve it, threads and/or fabric may be wrapped around something in the works. Open front and look carefully at all areas, especially all LOOPER thread paths. Many times AREA 9-10 (where thread lays in groove before being threaded thru the eye) can have thread stuck. Otherwise, may need to take it to your dealer for servicing. Good luck.

How do I make the cutting tool work

Your knives may be dull and need replacing or they may not be able to completely lower to complete the cut. Suggest removing thread and try feeding a piece of paper through the machine area. Watch the knives to determine if the top one comes all the way down to make a good cut. If it does not, there may be lint build up in the gears below. You can check it by opening the door to reveal the thread area below. Using hand wheel manually feed the piece of paper through and watch cutting gears. There is an opening above and below the screw that holds the gear in place. Take a needle or other sharp pointed tool and make sure that there is no lint in the area above the screw and below the screw. Many times, lint gets packed in that area and causes the gear not to lower completely. Hope this makes sense. Otherwise, take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for cleaning and service.
