Is your machine a 50 hertz machine and you are trying to run it on a 60 hertz line? Your best bet is the drain pump. The motor of the drain pump will hum but will not drain if it is defective. Then after a few minutes you will get a no drain alarm.

you have a loose pipe or you left things in your pockets and broken the outer drum if so machine is scrap

There are bearings on the back wall of the unit that may be worn out and on the front- may be the door seal -or bearings also. Not enough info here from you

You should inspect the inside of the drum for damage or something stuck in the drum perforations. I have had exactly this problem and it was caused by the wire from one of my wife's bras coming out in the wash and getting stuck in the drum perforations.

OLDFIXER was exactly right ! I had water gushing out of my LIQUID detergent tray. I removed the tray by pushing down on the flexible tab at the back of the tray and when I had the tray out I discovered A LARGE AMOUNT OF DAMP powder detergent caked up on the inside. I removed it all and sprayed some hot water inside AND ITS COMPLETELY FIXED !!! GOD BLESS OLD FIXER.

well is it a smell of burning rubber? maybe the belt that turns the drum has got jammed. over time these belts get loose and when a full load of clothes are washed the belt slips creating heat hence the smoke..hope this helps..

Remove the bottom panel. Screws are located on the bottom edge. There is a filter that needs to be cleaned periodically. Have a large pan ready to catch the water that will come out of the machine. A few towels might be a good idea as well. Open (unscrew) the filter cap and remove/clean the tray. Check the drain tube that leads into the filter for blockage. I have found entire pencils in there. This info is not in the manual. A GE service tech told me about it.

It has come off the rail. Need to find the fitting that broke and replace.

Christina,Does it leave water inside the tub? There are a couple of possibilitys. One could be the drain pump. If this fails the wash/rinse cycle will stop as it can sense the water not being pumped out. Can you hear the light sound of a small motot running when it goes into rinse cycle? Listen down at the very bottom far right side or far left side. If you hear the drain pump motor running is there any water discharging out the drain tube going into the wall? You should easily hear the flowing water. If not you have a few possible problems: Drain pump has an obstruction in or around it or, drain pump is actually bad. remove lower panel behind panel will be pump after removing as much water as possible in tub remove access port on pump and clean also ckd as far into pump as possible ..pump can be removed and taken apart if necessary ..if pump is clean may be issue with pump impeller they will sometimes break or come loose on motor shaft if impeller free wheels replace pump
